'I was not injured' - Karim Benzema reveals who sent him home from French camp

Image
Before the commencement of the world cup, Karim Benzema was one of the top stars looking to shine in the tournament.  However, his aspirations were short-lived as he was reported to have been injured in training with the French squad. He, alongside Christopher Nkunku were some of the French superstars looking to make their mark in the tournament.  Karim Benzema's agent has claimed he would have been available to play for France from the World Cup round-of-16 stage, but was sent home prematurely by coach Didier Deschamps and the team's medical staff. Klopp speaks out on Liverpool flop: Darwin Nunez

Image
Nunez forgot his scoring boots in Liverpool's 3-1 away win against Aston Villa but played a crucial role in setting up Stefan Bajcetic's first goal for the Reds. Despite being unable to convert a few gilt-edged opportunities of his own, the Uruguayan also impacted the game with his intelligent runs in behind the Villa defence. Klopp is aware of the criticism being aimed at Nunez due to his wastefulness in front of goal, but is not worried about his progress at Anfield and insists he had an "exceptional game" at Villa Park. Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Darwin Nunez is "unstoppable" despite his struggles in front of goal during Liverpool's Boxing Day win at Aston Villa. The Liverpool boss told reporters after the match: "It’s not as though he can close his eyes and hit the ball in. The scoring, in the beginning, is not so important. I am not since yesterday in the business and so I know. When you look back, you cannot imagine how many big chances [

See where Emiliano Martinez drew his world cup tattoo and what it means

Image
Emiliano Martinez has shown off a brand new tattoo after winning the World Cup with Argentina. The 30-year-old, who plies his trade with Aston Villa, played an integral role in his country’s World Cup triumph in Qatar. In fact, it’s no exaggeration to suggest that Lionel Messi and the rest of his Argentina teammates probably wouldn’t have lifted the World Cup on December 18 if it wasn’t for their goalkeeper. Martinez produced arguably the most important save in Argentina’s history in the dying seconds of extra-time against France. Randal Kolo Muani looked almost certain to score after finding himself one-on-one with Martinez, but the French forward was denied by the Argentina ‘keeper’s outstretched left leg. Martinez gets new tattoo to celebrate Argentina’s World Cup win To celebrate Argentina’s first World Cup title since 1986, Martinez has got a new tattoo in the exact same position where he saved Kolo Muani’s late effort.
