Manchester United set to sign €8 million Chelsea flop to replace Ronaldo in January
The Red Devils are in the market for a new centre-forward after Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.
Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly being eyed up by Manchester United ahead of a possible January loan swoop.
United are claimed to be keen on Atletico forward Joao Felix, but know they face competition from Chelsea in the race to secure his services.
His £8million loan fee meanwhile is proving to be ‘prohibitive’ for United, talkSPORT understands.
And according to ESPN, United could look instead to bring in his teammate Morata.
They state that the Chelsea flop is an option for United if the Wanda Metropolitano outfit are willing to listen to loan offers.Morata is in good form having netted three goals for Spain at the World Cup in Qatar.
Though the 30-year-old, who scored just 24 times in 72 matches for the Blues, has just five goals from 14 LaLiga games this term.
