Erik Ten Hag reveals De Gea's fate at Manchester United after costly mistake against West Ham

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, remarked that "mistakes are part of football" after David De Gea's mistake against West Ham cost his team the game.

De Gea mishandled Said Benrahma's shot, allowing their opponents to score what ended up being the decisive goal.

After losing by a score of 1-0 at the London Stadium, United is now in contention to take fourth place.

De Gea's error was the fourth one that he has made this season that has resulted in a goal.

But following the game, Ten Hag jumped to the Spanish goalkeeper's defense.

He said: “Mistakes are part of football and in this team you have to deal with it and bounce back because it is a team sport.

“Over the season he is the one with the most clean sheets and also we did it as a team. It can happen, it’s football but everybody has to take responsibility
