#BHAMNU: 20-man Manchester United squad and starting XI revealed to face Brighton

Manchester United plays Brighton in the Premier League on Thursday night and have the opportunity to tighten their hold on a top-four spot.

On Thursday morning, Erik ten Hag and his Manchester United players took a private flight to Gatwick in preparation for their Premier League match against Brighton.

United is now in fourth place, four points ahead of Liverpool in fifth and two points behind Newcastle in third. Newcastle has one game in hand over United, and Liverpool has two.

In the event that United wins at the Amex Stadium, the hosts' tenuous chances of earning a spot in the Champions League will be effectively eliminated. Despite being 11 points behind the top four in the league standings, Brighton is currently in eighth place and has played fewer games than every team above them.

United remain without several first-team players for the trip to the South Coast, with Ten Hag confirming in his pre-match press conference that the game will come too soon for Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho.

"Rapha [Varane] is closer than Scott McTominay in this moment but still for the coming two games they are not available," Ten Hag said. "We have one training session but I think it's too soon (for Garnacho) to be available, but I think he's short, he needs some training and then shortly he'll be available."
